CIPQ hosted its annual industry lunch on Friday 20th March 2009 with the objective of raising the awareness of this dreadful disease.
Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in Australian men and for those with a family history of the disease there is a one in three chance of a positive diagnosis.
CIPQ has raised over $150,000 via its fourth annual industry lunch. The speakers at the event were Angry Anderson and Kevin Hasemann.

Both speakers spoke from personal experience and from the heart.
As Leigh Matthews, former Brisbane Lions Coach and Mater Prostate Cancer Ambassador said recently:
"Prostate Cancer is an insidious disease that is, at last, getting the attention it deserves.
Quite simply, prostate cancer kills. It's not a pleasant way to go and every bloke has a one in nine chance of getting it. While many survive the disease, the odds of dying are still high and should scare the living daylights out of us.
Prostate cancer care and research at the Mater is something everyone should support. This world-renowned research team is onto something big in the fight against prostate cancer.
Success will save generations of men from radical and risky radiotherapy or surgery - or death - ensuring they live longer and enjoy real quality of life.
I encourage you to support prostate cancer research at the Mater."
To continue their work, scientists at the Mater Medical Research Institute (MMRI) need ongoing public support. The Mater Foundation is committed to raising $5 million to help the MMRI's team of researchers. The campaign fund currently stands at $3.7 million, with the total to be achieved by September 2009.
