Eligibility

Any employer who has eligible workers engaged in the Queensland building and construction industry can participate in CIPQ.

Deed of Adherence

To participate, an employer must complete and sign the Deed of Adherence form.

To complete the deed:

(1) Ensure the details on the front and back pages are complete including the employer's name, trading name, address and effective date that contributions to CIPQ will commence.

(2) Indicate the payday that the number of contribution weeks each month will be based on eg weekly each Thursday or Tuesday, etc.  The computer system which produces the contribution advice forms will be altered to match your pay periods.

(3) Ensure the contact details on the Deed of Adherence form are complete. The address that is entered is the address to which all correspondence will be sent.

(4) Sign the back of the Deed of Adherence as either;

  • a company (your deed must have the company seal affixed)
  • a sole proprietor with workers, or
  • a partnership

The Deed of Adherence is a legal document binding the employer to the provisions of the constitution of CIPQ.  The employer is then legally required to make monthly contribution payments to the Fund for each of its eligible workers. CIPQ commenced on 1 March 2001 for all builders and subcontractors that were a signatory to the Industry's Statement of Intent or an EBA with the building unions at or before 1 March 2001.  For other employers contribution payments are to commence from the "Date of Effect" noted on the Deed of Adherence.

All details, including the "Contact" section, must be completed otherwise the deed may be rejected.
